What is Rivet Nut?
The rivet nut is developed to solve the problems for sheet metal and thin pipe welding nuts of easy melting, easy welding deformation of the substrate, easy sliding of the internal thread and so on. Its use does not require tapping internal threads, nor does it require welding nuts. Its strength is riveting firmly, high efficiency, and easy to use. Rivet nuts can also improve the fatigue strength of bolts and improve the load distribution between thread teeth. It is widely used in the assembly of mechanical and electrical and light industrial products such as automobile, aviation, railway, refrigeration, elevator, switch, instrument, furniture, decoration and so on
Application:
The working principle of the rivet nut is the combination of the pop rivet and the welding nut. The rivet nut is pulled by the screw above the rivet gun, and the rivet nut is compressed lengthwise, causing a convex deformation on the surface of the end, so as to clamp the riveted object and realize the riveting effect.
Unlike ordinary bolts, it can be used on one side of the application part. All you have to do is push it through the pre-drilled hole, then turn the bolt, and with the tension generated by the bolt, force the casing to squeeze out of shape and bulge outward. This bulging part is pressed against the material to be joined, so that it can be fixed properly and achieve excellent thin wall riveting.
Rivet Nut Types
Rivet nut has many different types. For example, flat head, small head, hexagonal, semi-hexagonal, etc. It can also be divided by through holes and blind holes, or by with knurling and without knurling.
Available Size:
M3 M4 M5 M6 M8 M10 M12 or imperial size 1/4”-20 etc. Length is determined by the riveting length requested by users.
